This lighthouse was constructed after the rebuilding of the pier; the original pier was destroyed in a great blizzard in 1891.

Characteristic and Range: Two white flashes every 10 seconds, range 12 nautical miles.

Description of Tower: White, hexagonal cast iron tower, black lower portion.

Fog Signal: Automated horn, one blast every 30 seconds.

Current Use: Active aid to navigation.
