It has been announced that the Marine City Lighthouse in Marine City, Michigan will now have colored LED spot lights installed around it that will be lighted various colors for different holidays and awareness events.
For example, it could be lighted green for St. Patrick’s Day, blue for autism awareness, or pink for breast cancer awareness.
The Marine City Lighthouse was originally built in 1908 by the United States as the Peche Island Rear Range Light and moved in 1983 to Waterworks Park on the mainland where it was restored and became the Marine City Lighthouse.
The lights will not cost the taxpayers one dime. They and their installation are being donated by John Brenner of Brenner Electric of Marine City, Michigan.
