This past autumn, while workmen were in the process of relocating a storage building at Michigan’s Mission Point Lighthouse back to its original location they unearthed an original cistern to the lighthouse that at one time collected rain water for use by the lighthouse keeper.

The Mission Point Lighthouse in Traverse City, Michigan was deactivated in 1933 and is now part of a town park.
