Grants from the sale of Washington State lighthouse license plates have been awarded to four of the state’s lighthouses. There are twelve nonprofit lighthouse groups and one lightship that eligible to receive grants from the plates.
Browns Point Lighthouse got $6,450 to restore the original oil house, and Grays Harbor Lighthouse was awarded $6,800 to fabricate, finish, and install a new watch room exterior door. A sum of $4,250 was awarded to New Dungeness Lighthouse to clean and paint the lighthouse tower and $5,000 was given to Turn Point Light Station to restore three doors on the fog signal building.
