This past September, after being absent for a few years, the Miss America Pageant returned to Atlantic City, New Jersey where the pageant has its roots that date back to the 1920s. On September 7, the 53 Miss America contestants visited Atlantic City’s 1857 Absecon Lighthouse to film the opening segment of the ABC production, which aired on September 15.

There are probably tens of thousands of men who would have loved to have the opportunity to have their photo taken with the contestants. But on this day, only one had that opportunity. Lying on the grass in front of the Miss America contestants at the Absecon Lighthouse is Milton Glenn, Director of Education at Absecon Lighthouse.
