Some of this year highlights include replicas of North Carolina’s Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, New York’s Sandy Hook and Race Rock lighthouses, California’s East Brother Lighthouse, and many others. All are made from natural materials such as bark, leaves, twigs, hollow logs, moss, acorns, dried flowers, seeds and stones.

As well as the lighthouses, the perfectly proportioned landscapes feature rivers and waterfalls, a quarter mile track featuring seven loops and tunnels with 12 different rail lines, two cable cars and nine bridges including a trestle bridge that you can walk under.

The Garden Railway and Lighthouse display is part of the 92-acre Morris Arboretum of the University of Pennsylvania and is located at 100 East Northwestern Avenue in Chestnut Hill, Pennsylvania. The exhibit is open daily from 10am to 4pm and there is an admission charge. For more information you can call them at 215-247-5777 or visit their web site at www.morrisarboretum.org.
