The famous Morris Arboretum Garden Railway in Chestnut Hill, Pennsylvania returns this year with a new exhibit titled the Great American Lighthouses.
Some of this year highlights include replicas of North Carolina’s Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, New York’s Sandy Hook and Race Rock lighthouses, California’s East Brother Lighthouse, and many others. All are made from natural materials such as bark, leaves, twigs, hollow logs, moss, acorns, dried flowers, seeds and stones.
As well as the lighthouses, the perfectly proportioned landscapes feature rivers and waterfalls, a quarter mile track featuring seven loops and tunnels with 12 different rail lines, two cable cars and nine bridges including a trestle bridge that you can walk under.
The Garden Railway and Lighthouse display is part of the 92-acre Morris Arboretum of the University of Pennsylvania and is located at 100 East Northwestern Avenue in Chestnut Hill, Pennsylvania.
