Our thanks go out to Rosa McVey who sent us this photograph of her grandfather, Frederick William Burmeister, who served as a lighthouse keeper at Craighill Cutoff Upper Channel Light-house and Concord Point Lighthouse in Maryland.

It is believed he served at the lighthouses in the late 1800s.

If any of our readers can supply us with more information such as old newspaper stories, written memories or other information about him, we appreciate hearing from you at Editor, Lighthouse Digest, P.O. Box 250, East Machias, ME 04630 or email editor@LighthouseDigest.com.

This story appeared in the June 2006 edition of Lighthouse Digest Magazine. The print edition contains more stories than our internet edition, and each story generally contains more photographs - often many more - in the print edition.
