Shown here is Clarence Schofield, the last keeper to serve at Maine's Perkin's Island Lighthouse. He also served as a keeper at Maine's Seguin Island Lighthouse. He is shown here in full uniform, austere in demeanor, looking at the oil lamp used in the lighthouse. From what we know of him, this photograph conveys the Clarence Schofield character. The photograph will now go on display at the American Lighthouse Foundation's Museum of Lighthouse History in Wells, Maine.

We would like to thank his daughter Lorraine Schofield for the providing this treasured photograph.
