During the pre launch breakfast ceremony, a request was made for all uniformed personnel to pose for a photograph with Louis. Included with the group photo were five Coast Guard Admirals!

Bauchan, now 91, served at a number of Great Lakes Lighthouses and kept an amazing photo journal of his years in the Lighthouse Service. That photo journal is now one of the most important historical documents of lighthouse living on the Great Lakes.

This honor bestowed upon Bauchan by the Coast Guard and Marinette Marine couldn’t have happened to a nicer man.
