Photo Caption:

In the 1960s Santa did not need any special permission to land at Race Rocks Lighthouse to visit with the lighthouse keepers. We can only guess what was going on in this image. It appears that only the young girl is interested in Santa, while most of the adults are looking at something else or daydreaming. In one of the many travesties preformed by the Canadian government against its historic lighthouses, this amazing stone house and many of the other buildings at Race Rocks Lighthouse were demolished in the interest of progress. Santa Claus no longer makes visits to the once proud light station.
