By the time this photograph of Two Bush Island Lighthouse was taken, the fog bell was replaced with steam-powered foghorns that can be seen mounted on top of the old fog bell building that is attached to the structure. In 1998 ownership of Two Bush Island Lighthouse was transferred to the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service under the Maine Lights Program. The last time we saw the tower, it looked in deplorable condition.
