This fogbell is located at the Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station, on Hatteras Island Historic Site in Rodanthe, North Carolina. Manufactured by E. A. Williams & Son, Bell Founders of Jersey City, NJ, in 1904 for the United States Lighthouse Establishment, it served as a navigational aid in the ocean near the Hampton/Newport News side of the Chesapeake Bay. Although the National Park Service now owns the bell, it is on long-term loan to the life-saving station. Photograph by Linda Molloy of the Chicamacomico Historical Association.
