Stratford Shoal Lighthouse in Long Island Sound, midway between Long Island, New York and Connecticut, is the second lighthouse where John N. Buckridge was stationed. The lighthouse is also known as Middle Ground Lighthouse. He served there from 1878 to 1881. (Lighthouse Digest archives.)
