Screw piles were used to correct the sinking foundation problem. These piles had to be drilled 77 feet into the ground before finding a composite soil foundation suitable to support the structure. They expected to find this soil foundation at 30 feet below the surface and the extra pile length, along with an additional 2-piles and labor, cost quite a bit more than expected.
