Vintage image of the 1931 DeTour Reef Lighthouse, which celebrated its 80th birthday this year. Automated in 1974, the lighthouse, which was restored by the DeTour Reef Lighthouse Preservation Society, is now available for overnight stays. The lighthouse is located at the northwestern head of Lake Huron at the entrance to the St. Mary’s River. The Fresnel lens that was once in the tower is now on display at the DeTour Historical Museum in DeTour, Michigan.
