Photo Caption:

Miniature brass lighthouse railing caps still adorn the railing at East Chop Lighthouse on Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts. They have been painted black. At one time, many of New England’s lighthouses had these brass lighthouse railing caps. Although they still remain at a few lighthouses, most of them disappeared after 1939 when they were discarded or stolen. Photos courtesy of Tyler Scriven and Tyler Finkle of ICC Commonwealth.
