Jamie Wyeth’s 1997 painting, Comet, shows a sleeping gull in the foreground as the Hale-Bopp comet passes over the lighthouse lantern in the distance. Seagulls feature frequently in Jamie’s paintings. This one in particular shows his relationship with them and their trust in him, to the point of sleeping in his presence.
