In 1981, as a gift for Betsy, Andrew painted this small tempera tableau piece, Dr. Syn, set inside the newly renovated Tenants Harbor Lighthouse fog bell tower, based on the British book series and 1937 movie of the same name. While the first Dr Syn adventure was published in 1915, Dr Syn on the High Seas was published in 1936 and featured pirates and British naval exploits.
