Baard Jens Lervick with his wife Gerda circa 1944. Baard was born on April 16,1880 in Norway and began service at Eldred Rock Lighthouse in 1913. He transferred to Scotch Cap Light that same year and served for four years until going to Tree Point Light shortly before Baard H. was born in 1917. He transferred to Mary Island in 1923 where he served for seven years until transferring again to the lighthouse depot in Ketchikan in 1930 where he stayed until his retirement on May 1, 1944. Baard J. Lervick passed away on April 11, 1949 and is buried with his wife, Gerda, his son Baard H., and his son’s wife, Irene, in the Bayview Cemetery in Ketchikan, Alaska. (Courtesy Lervick Family)
