Vintage image of the Stamford Harbor Lighthouse in Stamford, Connecticut, which is also known as the Chatham Rocks Lighthouse, and the Ledge Obstruction Lighthouse. Neil Martin, who had been the keeper at Race Rock Lighthouse in New York from 1878 to 1882, became the first keeper of the Stamford Harbor Lighthouse when it was completed in 1882. He did not like being stationed here and stayed only ten months before taking over as the keeper of the Penfield Reef Lighthouse at the entrance to Black Rock Harbor in Long Island Sound near Fairfield, Connecticut where he stayed until 1891.
