Photo Caption:

Shown is the old wooden Sheboygan Breakwater Lighthouse on what was then known as the North Pier in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. A beacon was first lighted here on December 1, 1873. It was destroyed by fire on March 17, 1880 and an exact duplicate was completed and lighted on June 22, 1880. If you look closely, you will see the fog signal building standing directly behind it. Both structures no longer stand. (Lighthouse Digest archives)
