Photo Caption:

The starboard side of the restored and historic Overfalls Lightship. Lightships were used in areas where it was too expensive or too dangerous to build a lighthouse. Being a crew member on a lightship was considered by many as the most dangerous duty in the lighthouse service. (Photograph courtesy Jerry & Jody Tyson.)
