Photo Caption:

The man in this dory with a woman and young man may have been a light keeper of the Fuller Rock and Sassafras Point Lighthouse. The last keeper of the lights was John “Jack” Mullen who served there from 1886 to 1912. One evening while rowing home from the lighthouse his boat overturned. He was rescued by a local resident who had witnessed the mishap. (Lighthouse Digest archives.)
