Photo Caption:

Having a plane land on the island was quite a big deal, and many of the island’s residents wanted a chance to pose for this historic photo. After all, how often did a plane land on the island? Shown with the pilot without his shirt on, from left to right are John Freie, Robert Remington, Donald Simpson, Larry Boyland, with children Vicky and Jerry, Lois Boyland, Muriel Remington and Shirley Whaley.
