Photo Caption:

Emmet County Commissioner Jim Tamlyn stands beside the new LED-illuminated 300 mm Tideland Signal optic which will be exhibited for the first time at McGulpin Point Lighthouse on May 30. Long Range plans call for eventually replacing this modern optic with a replica Third and a Half Order Fresnel lens - the order with which the lighthouse was originally equipped in 1869.
